A SnuggleSafe is a microwavable 9 inch disc-like pad (like a thick dinner plate), containing a non-toxic gel called "Thermapol®." When heated in a standard microwave oven, the Thermapol® heats to a hot liquid that stabilizes at roughly 52°C (124°F) and maintains this heat for up to 8 hours. Please note, we recommend you always have a barrier (eg. a blanket or the SnuggleSafe Heatpad Cover), between the animal and the SnuggleSafe heatpad. SnuggleSafe fits comfortably under the blankets at night, keeping you or your pet warm. Unlike a hot water bottle that once it cools draws heat away, the SnuggleSafe heating pad continues to generate warmth all night long. The shell is made of polypropylene, a durable, hygienic, bite resistant and non-expanding safe material. Because the SnuggleSafe is mobile, doesn't require an electrical outlet, etc. it is ideal for animal breeders (puppies / kittens), transportation carriers, kennels/catteries, a variety of veterinary application, in the car, in small animal hutches or cages, under the sleeping pads of older or arthritic animals, or just simply the comfort of pets (or people) in the home.
